IG Digital meets creativeSHIFT
14 October, 2.00 - 3.00 pm
Platform giants like Google, Amazon, Facebook & Co. have been undermining the business models of established companies in the creative industries for years. How can the "creative Davids" nevertheless compete with the "digital Goliaths"? With creativeSHIFT a network of European innovation drivers from the content sectors music, games, audiovisual and publishing is emerging. Through collaborative projects and cross-sector exchange, we aim to strengthen the position of our industries in global competition.
In exchange with EU experts and industry representatives, we are currently working on ten challenges that affect the entire creative industry. These include topics such as visibility, financing and business models, and political guidelines. The webinar will present the goals and above all the value added by creativeSHIFT. After all, this network is not just about identifying the needs of the book industry. Its main goal is to define their real challenges and to develop cross-industry solutions for them, from which everyone in the network benefits.
Participants: Barbara Gessler (Creative Europe - European Commission & Directorate General - Education and Culture), Jagoda Komusinska (European Commission, DG CNECT, Unit I.3 Audiovisual Industry and Media Support Programmes), Emmanuel Joly (European Commission, DG CNECT, Unit I.3 Audiovisual Industry and Media Support Programmes), Hermann Eckel (tolino media & IG Digital)
Project Partner: Stefanie Perk (Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels), Carlos Solana Fraile (Mediapro), Juliane Schulz (Media Deals)
Moderation: Simone Lippold (Börsenverein) and Enrico Turrin (Federation of European Publishers)

Reading motives in the VLB: New standard for books
16 October, 2.00 - 3.00 pm
The startup QualiFiction, which won the CONTENTshift-Accelerator last year in 2019, has entered a new cooperation with MVB. Background of the co-operation are the study results "Consciously unconscious: From hidden reading motive to buying impulse". In order to ensure a quick dissemination of the reading motive standard within the German book industry, MVB is currently working on integrating the categories as additional metadata in the Verzeichnis Lieferbarer Bücher (VLB). The project includes more than the pure display and playout possibilities of the demand information in the database. The reading motifs are automatically assigned to the VLB title inventory with the help of artificial intelligence. Partner for this technical mapping is the company QualiFiction. Click here for the press release.
In this webinar you will learn how the new standard for reading motives using artificial intelligence is implemented by QualiFiction - winner CONTENTshift Accelerator 2019 - in the Verzeichnis Lieferbarer Bücher (VLB). Click here for the webinar.
