There is no doubt in my mind that involving more startups and innovative solutions in the book industry will be a highly rewarding pursuit. For that reason, I think it's great that the Börsenverein is using the CONTENTshift programme to drive forward links between these two worlds. Prof. Dr. Katja Nettesheim
Prof. Dr. Katja Nettesheim is the founder of _MEDIATE. Before starting her own company, she acquired a degree in law and gathered many years of experience at Axel Springer, where she was active in the field of M&A and also in the publishing-related management of regional Hamburg newspapers. Prior to that, Nettesheim worked for many years as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, primarily in the fields of media and private equity. At the beginning of her professional career, she worked in international tax and social law at Freshfields and Shearman & Sterling, among others.
Nettesheim is an expert in the fields of media, business development and M&A and is also a professor of media management at a private university.
In May 2012, she became a member of the group of mentors at Deutsche Telekom’s hub:raum incubator. Since October 2015, she has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. She is also a supervisory board member at two other companies. In early 2011, she became a member of the Advisory Board of GMPVC German Media Pool, the first German Media-for-Equity fund.
