Dr. Carsten Linz is recognized expert for entrepreneurial leadership and innovation management. As a serial entrepreneur and new business developer, he successfully started and developed more than 20 ventures and launched several new €100 mio. businesses.
Dr. Linz mentors start-up CEOs, advices early-stage investors to systematically develop ventures to the next maturity level, and coaches top-executives on how to implement a next-generation innovation or incubation management. He serves as advisory board member for fast-growing companies, is an active member of the investment committee of Europe’s largest seed stage funds, and invests in start-ups as a business angel. As Innovation Officer at SAP IT, he holds globally accountable for the systematic incubation of innovations and for driving the digital transformation. He reports directly to the Global Managing Board, specifically SAP’s CIO and Chief Process Officer.
As Senior Lecturer for Entrepreneurial Leadership he teaches at top-ranked European universities including University of St. Gallen, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and Mannheim Business School in MBA and Executive MBA courses. He is book author, published articles in renowned journals and is a sought-after keynote speaker. His new book “Business Model Transformation: How Brave Entrepreneurial Leaders Find Radically New Ways of Value Creation” will be published end of 2015.
Dr. Linz holds a PhD in Innovation Management from University of Bern/Switzerland (“summa cum laude”) and a Diploma degree in Economic Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (“with honors”). He studied System Dynamics and Entrepreneurship at MIT Sloan School of Management, Leading Change and Organizational Renewal at Harvard Business School, and Corporate Strategy at INSEAD Fontainebleau. He was honored with the coveted Award of Excellence from the Global Institute of Logistics and ranked as ‘Leader’ in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.
